No Gap Surgery with Medibank and Other Major Health Funds

We aim to minimise Out-of-Pocket Costs for patients with private health insurance. 

If you have private hospital cover with Medibank or a participating health fund, you will not be charged any out-of-pocket costs for your surgery fees performed by Prof Ton Tran.  

This applies to the surgeon’s fee for procedures performed in hospital.  

Professor Tran participates in no-gap arrangements with Medibank Private and many other major health funds. This means:

Each health fund has its own rules, policies, and levels of cover. Our team will provide you with the relevant Medicare item numbers for your proposed surgery, so you can: 

  • Contact your health fund 

  • Check your individual policy 

  • Confirm if any out-of-pocket expenses apply 

This helps avoid surprises and ensures you're fully informed before surgery. 

What’s Not Included

  • X-ray, MRI, etc.

  • If applicable under your policy

We will guide you through this process and help coordinate information with your providers whenever possible. 

Self-Funded Surgery 

If you don’t have private health insurance, it may still be possible to have your surgery as a self-funded patient. We’ll provide a detailed quote and help you understand all associated costs upfront.
